A pre-2008 election accounting of Barack Obama

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of rare magnitude. His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of "Change" or that he says he will be a Uniter. The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma and both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions. On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler inspired millions and the results were catastrophic. Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but for many Americans out there feeling just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, the real story is what happens when it hits shore.

Just Some of What Defines Barack Obama:

He voted against banning partial " birth abortion.
Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government.
He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing.
Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as minimum wage affair.
Admitted marijuana and cocaine use in high school and in college.

His religious convictions are very murky.
He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il andMahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations.

Opposed the Patriot Act.
First bill he signed that was passed was campaign finance reform.
Voted No on prohibiting law suits against gun manufacturers.

Supports universal health-care.
Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.
Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.
Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform.
Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.

Wants to make the minimum wage a "living wage".
Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes.
Is a big believer in the separation of church and state.

He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax
He voted No on repealing the "Death" Tax
Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid.

He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax.
Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded.
He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing.

If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya, his father's family was mainly Arabs. SOCIAL SECURITY: (This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.

Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000.00 during the last years of their lives.

This is calculated on an average life span for each of those Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan to them is $0.00. NADA!!! ZILCH!!!

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;

"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"!

From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer), We can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement.

Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made. That change would be to: Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us. Then sit back ... And see how fast they would fix it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

The College of Really Hard Knocks by TheRightJack

Our Public Schools

Are Obama, the Democrats and unionized Teachers really putting our public school students between a rock and a hard place? 

There has been an ongoing effort for decades to dumb down the school curriculum and what is considered “passing grades.” Passing grades may be more accurately regarded as good scholastic “performance.” This pressure to pass lower and lower performing students on to the next level continues even more strongly today than in the past. In reality, our public schools are producing a host of functionally illiterate graduates who can barely read, write, perform basic math such as long division and percentages or find their neighboring state on a map. 

Many of our students know next to nothing.

As a former teacher, I find it very difficult to understand why a political party would push for this. It certainly does not benefit students. So, who benefits from naïve, uninformed and ill-educated students, many of whom are graduated from high school. The beneficiary has to be the Democrat Party. 

They are creating generations of followers, not leaders.

In doing this, Democrats are creating an ever increasing “knowledge gap” between public and private school students. How can dropouts and graduates get jobs and eventually develop businesses when they do not know the basic skills of life. For Democrats, there is no need to know that stuff. Big Dem Gov will help them get by [at a subsistence level of dependence] as long as they vote for Big Dem Gov. That is the bottom line. 

This knowledge gap is the foundation for the job gap, the income gap, the creativity gap and the wealth gap. =TheRightJack on 2/13/12
