Government Fails – Citizens Do the Job

Local residents and business owners in Kauai, Hawaii replaced the bridge to Polihale State Park that was destroyed by local flooding. Why did they do it? Their businesses would have been in ruin. Why? The state government of Hawaii was not going to replace the bridge for at least two years at a cost of $4 million. The locals did it in eight days at no cost with no government involvement.
