The President ordered the cabinet to cut $100 million from the $3.5 trillion federal budget.

I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to do the same thing with my personal budget. I spend about $2000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc, but it's time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back.

I'm going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio, 1/35,000 of my total budget. After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2000 a month; I'm going to have to cut that number by six cents. Yes, I'm going to have to get by with $1999.94, but that's what sacrifice is all about. I'll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries.

The $50 Lesson . . .

I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up.

She said she wanted to be President some day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."

Her parents beamed with pride.

"Wow ... what a worthy goal" I told her,

"But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50.

Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked,

"Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Her parents still aren't speaking to me!

Well, now: America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It was about the impending collapse of all of the western world except America. The good news is that the end of the rest of the West is still on schedule. The bad news is that America shows alarming signs of embracing the same fate, and then some.

Nobody writes a doomsday tome because they want it to come true. From an author’s point of view, the apocalypse is not helpful: the bookstores get looted and the collapse of the banking system makes it harder to cash the royalty check.

But Cassandra’s warnings were cursed to go unheeded, and so it seems are mine. Last time ’round, I wrote that Europe was facing a largely self-inflicted perfect storm that threatened the very existence of some of the oldest nation-states in the world. My warning proved so influential that America decided to sign up for the same program but supersized. Heigh-ho.

It starts with the money. In "The Run Upon the Bankers" (1720), Jonathan Swift wrote:

A baited banker thus desponds,
From his own hand foresees his fall,
They have his soul, who have his bonds;
’Tis like the writing on the wall.

A lot of writing on the wall these days. Who has the bonds of a "developed world" developed to the point that it’s institutionally conditioned to living beyond its means? Foreigners with money. So who’s available and flush enough? The Chinese Politburo; Saudi sheikhs lubricated with oil but with lavish worldwide ideological proselytizing to fund; Russian "businessmen."....These are not the fellows one might choose to have one’s bonds, never mind one’s soul, but there aren’t a lot of other options.

In 2010, Douglas Elmendorf, director of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), described current U.S. deficits as "unsustainable." On that everyone’s agreed. So let’s make them even more so!

On assuming office, President Obama assured us, with a straight face, that his grossly irresponsible wastrel of a predecessor had taken the federal budget on an eight-year joyride. So the only way his sober, fiscally prudent successor could get things under control was to grab the throttle and crank it up to what Mel Brooks in Spaceballs (which seems the appropriate comparison) called "Ludicrous Speed." Let’s head for the washed-out bridge, but at Obamacrous Speed!

The Spendballs plans of the Obama administration took the average Bush deficit for the years 2001–2008 and doubled it, all the way to 2020. "We’ve got a big hole that we’re digging ourselves out of," the president declared in 2011. Usually, when you’re in a hole, it’s a good idea to stop digging. But, seemingly, to get out of the Bush hole, we needed to dig a hole twice as deep for one-and-a-half times as long. And that’s according to the official projections of the president’s economics czar, Ms. Rose Colored-Glasses.

By 2020, the actual hole will be so deep that even if you toss every Obama speech down it on double-spaced paper you still won’t be able to fill it up. In the spendthrift Bush days, federal spending as a proportion of GDP averaged 19.6 percent. That’s crazy. Obama’s solution was to attempt to crank it up to 25 to 30 percent as a permanent feature of life. That’s load up the suicide-bomber underpants and pass me the matches.

The message from teachers: It is OK to cheat if you do it for the right reasons.

The reason: pressure from the top to improve scores or schools will be shut down and we [teachers] will lose our job. Pressure came from state and US Big Gov to produce better scores.

You want to understand why government is so darn inefficient? This stat should explain it all … a USA Today analysis has found that federal government workers are more likely to die than get laid off or fired. USA Today says, “Death — rather than poor performance, misconduct or layoffs — is the primary threat to job security at the Environmental Protection Agency, the Small Business Administration, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Office of Management and Budget and a dozen other federal operations.” When it comes down to it, 00.55% of government hacks were fired last year for poor performance in the workplace. Their job security is so solid, that there is almost nothing they can do to get fired. So what’s the incentive for them to do well? There is none. Imagine how much better off we would be if more government services were privatized. Make people accountable for their performance and it is amazing how they will suddenly work a little bit harder. If they don’t, there is always someone else there who IS willing to work harder and do better ... so long as there is incentive to do so.

Social Security, an entitlement?

Social Security being called an 'entitlement!'

Who is saying that, Democrats, most likely.

This stinks. I am getting Social security and paid the full amount each year of my career. I hear that the presidet wants to stop next month's checks due to the national debt crisis. Read on...

I thought I was the only one that was scratching my head over my Social Security being called an 'entitlement!'

I am entitled to it! I paid into it all my life. But to have it coupled in the same category with Welfare and other hand outs which are not earned by the recipients is insulting!

Entitlement?

You don't need guts to send this ... you just have to give a damn about 240 years of history and the blood, sweat, lives, tears, etc. That others before us went through to get us to today.

Entitlement my ass, I paid cash for my social security insurance! Just because they borrowed the money, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!

Congressional benefits, aka free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements!

What the HELL's wrong?

WAKE UP AMERICA!

Tuesday's Daily Bulletin paper, ran two articles on the front page side by side:

1. Calif 's 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit

2. The Calif Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college and get benefits. Why don't they just deport them when they arrive to register?

3. Last year they ran an article on the yearly costs to Calif Taxpayers from Illegals using Hospital Emergency Rooms for their general health care.

At just one hospital the cost to tax payers totaled over 25 million a year.

Someone please tell me what the HELL's wrong with all the people that run this country!

We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.?

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, Turkey, Japan. And now Pakistan .....home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and tons of food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment, etc.

YET...

They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if our GOVERNMENT gave US the same support they give to other countries.

Sad isn't it?

99% of people won't have the guts to forward this.

Paul Colbert has seen it all. He has seen crippled people walk, the infirmed ride horses and even blind men see again. He’s a detective and founder of Meridian Investigative Group, a corporation that specializes in investigating workers' compensation fraud. Through his work, he has seen people walk with crutches one day, and ride in a rodeo the next. While that may seem funny to some people, Colbert’s concern is that people don’t take workers’ compensation fraud seriously.

“When people hear about some of the fraud cases we have worked, sometimes I get the feeling they don’t have a problem with it, because they think the only people being hurt are the insurance companies,” Colbert said. “That notion couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, workers’ comp fraud costs the average consumer about $900 a year through increased insurance rates, increased healthcare costs and revenue stolen from their employers, which reduces their paychecks and bonuses.”

Colbert’s agency investigates thousands of cases each year, but he shared only a few that he felt were the most compelling and clearly negligent. For legal purposes, the names of the following fraudsters have been changed, but the videos revealing their fraud can be seen at www.migclaims.com.

** Kristy G: She alleged that her right foot was so injured that she couldn’t walk for for extended periods of time or be a productive member at her place of employment. Meridian’s video caught her walking into the doctor’s office with her crutches and ambulatory aid for her ankle. Later, she was videotaped walking around without the crutches and holding her boot in her hand, trying to hit someone with it and then stalking off quickly without any aid or signs of disability.

** Kathy V: Her alleged injury was to her neck and shoulders, and in her claim, she indicated that she gets regular injections in her arm for pain. Her pain was so severe, that she could not work. Meridian later videotaped her riding in a rodeo competition on two different occasions, after her date of injury.

** Eddie R: His alleged injury was to his back, left ankle and heel. Again, his injuries were to such a degree that he could not work anymore. Meridian’s video captured Eddie handily pushing his pickup truck after it stalled.

** Burt F: Burt filed a claim indicating the he was allegedly legally blind due to his workplace injury, but apparently not blind enough to prevent him from working as a maintenance man at an apartment complex. He was captured on video driving a golf cart and performing maintenance duties.

“When I see things like this day in and day out, it makes me wonder why people aren’t as outraged about it as I am,” Colbert added. “I see how much these fraudsters cost the system, and those costs are passed on to every consumer in the United States.

Some of us even know people who are getting away with it, and some of them figure, ‘hey, it’s cool, someone’s finally getting one over on the insurance companies,’ but they couldn’t be more wrong. All these people are doing is reaching into all of our pockets to pay their rent and go on vacations. It’s unfair to the people who go to work every morning – and some who even work two jobs – so they can make ends meet honestly.”

White House Takes Aim at Rural America by Executive Order

Where, exactly, does the U.S. Constitution authorize the federal government to create “sustainable communities” to:

… expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands.

Clearly, the Constitution provides no such authority, and the 10th Amendment prohibits the federal government from engaging in activity not explicitly enumerated and authorized in the Constitution. This fact meant nothing to Bill Clinton, who created the President’s Council on Sustainable Development by executive order. Nor does this fact have meaning to Barack Hussein Obama.
On June 9, 2011, by Executive Order 13575, Obama created the White House Rural Council. This new council consists of 25 Cabinet secretaries – or their designee – and is chaired by the secretary of Agriculture. The mission of the council is to:

… work across executive departments, agencies, and offices to coordinate development of policy recommendations to promote economic prosperity and quality of life in rural America, and shall coordinate my Administration’s engagement with rural communities.

Anyone who has ever had cow manure on his boots knows full well that until the federal government decided to get “engaged” with rural communities to improve the quality of life for the poor souls who live in fly-over county, farming and ranching fed the nation. Rural America provided the resources that fueled unprecedented prosperity. Not until the government showed up to help did rural families begin to suffer.

Obama’s new White House Rural Council has the potential to be much worse than anything Franklin Roosevelt ever dreamed about. In 1992, the U.N. produced a 40-chapter, non-binding policy document called Agenda 21. This document sets forth recommendations to transform capitalism and a free republic into an administrative unit of global governance. Bill Clinton’s PCSD began imposing these policies on American towns and cities in the mid-1990s. Obama’s new council is designed to continue and expand the implementation of these policies into the hinterland.

Remember the National Animal Identification System, which USDA said was being abandoned. Ha! It’s back. This new council will have the effect of multi-jurisdictional enforcement. Simply put, if a rancher or farmer fights too hard against the new USDA electronic identification system, the rancher can and will be identified throughout every agency in the council and forced to submit to inspections and enforcement of every rule and regulation imaginable. This is multi-jurisdictional enforcement.
Obama’s ultimate goal is to assure that government has ultimate control of every square inch of land, every business activity, the curriculum in every school and, ultimately, the information that may be conveyed on the public airways.

This is the goal of Agenda 21. Its recommendations are designed to produce this outcome. The program is called “Sustainable Development,” which means in real terms “government-approved” development. Every recommendation in Agenda 21 requires government enforcement. Any activity that is preceded by the word “Sustainable,” should be recognized as a “government-controlled” activity.

Sustainable Development brings the concept of “Amortization of Non-Conforming Uses.” This means that, over time, the right of private landowners to occupy their houses will automatically be extinguished, and owners will be forced to leave their property without just compensation. This is happening in both urban and rural areas of the country. One of the more blatant examples was revealed in an article published by the LA Weekly News, June 23: “L.A. County’s Private Property War.”

Countless L.A. County property owners have been victimized by armed NATs (Nuisance Abatement Teams) issuing citations for “living on the land illegally” and other equally ridiculous code violations. This is on land the victim owns. The code violations arise from new codes that comply with Agenda 21. These codes did not exist when the homes in Antelope Valley were built 20 and 30 years ago. Owners have had the time since the new codes were adopted, until recently, to bring their structures up to code. Those who failed to do so have now effectively lost their property to the county – without compensation. The fact that the land owners had no idea these ridiculous codes had been adopted is no excuse. This is “Amortization of Non-Conforming Uses.”

This is “Agenda 21′s Sustainable Development” operating in the rural areas of Los Angeles County. This is what the rest of rural America can expect from the White House Rural Council in the months and years ahead.

To a large extent, the federal government has imposed this principle for quite a while. Think: endangered species, wetlands, sodbuster, uncontrolled wildfires, wilderness designations and other land-use control policies that have no constitutional basis.
Agenda 21 and ICLEI are a “Clear and Present Danger” to the Liberty in and Sovereignty of the United States of America.

Progressivism, Marxism, Socialism and and all the other enemies of a free people act like a mold. They do not attack at only one single point, but at each and every boundary and facet that they can make headway. There is a “war” of ideology that is “going over the heads” of most citizens that don’t realize the significance of it.

Global Warming: Consensus is not fact

Consensus is not Fact. That is well worth repeating.

Global warming and climate change was a segment topic on NPR this morning [6/21/11] It was pointed out that the concensus of many scientific groups is that global warming is occurring. They also seem to agree again by concensus that is it man-made.

Scant attention was paid to other scientists and scientific groups who Do Not Agree that global warming is occurring and that if it is happening, it is man-made.

There is an interesting and behind the scenes fact that should be pointed out here once again. Many scientists earn their livelihoods from various types of grants awarded to this scientific community, among others. In what may be far too many cases, grants are awarded to scientists who study certain topics and agree with the common concensus about certain topics. These scientists then conduct and produce research results that comes to conclusions that agree with the common concensus.

In some circles this is called a daisy chain. Family and faculty variations of this concept is called in-breeding.

Now get this. Scientists who agree with the common concensus and produce research conclusions that agree with the common concensus receive even more grants to study variations of what the decision makers agree is the common concensus.

How is that for a Circle of Truth! This is a reenactment of the Flat Earth consensus that existed before the 1500s during the age of sea-going explorers.

Those who disagree with or do not want to study what is deemed as the common concensus, Do Not Receive These Grants because the concensus makers are the decision makers. Hence, the views and research findings of those who are not in the “Circle” do not see the light of day or peer review. Researchers who agree with the common concensus are enlightened and favored.

Consensus is not fact. Concensus is an agreed upon conclusion by what may be called a deliberative body or authorities and thus, not shown to be a fact.

Gravity is a fact. Religion is a belief and global warming is treated as a religion by its believers.

4 time 4 equals sixteen. That is not the consensus of mathematicians. It is a demonstrable fact that upon which all people agree.

The boiling point of water at standard temperature and pressure is 212 degrees Fahrenheit, 100 degrees centigrade. That is not the consensus of physicists. It is a demonstrable fact that can be replicated over and over.

In the age of exploration of Christopher Columbus, the common concensus was that … the earth is flat. It took a few brave sea-faring adventurers to show that, in fact, the world is round.

Global warming and climate change are not demonstrable facts. They are agreed upon conclusions derived by consensus by suspect research. Further more, it is not agreed upon that global warming can ever be show to be true or false.

The sky is falling.

The global warming and climate change believers, even if they know that they are unable to show this, in fact, that it is happening, still believe that we need to make massive changes to our way of living to protect the earth from total destruction.

Unfortunately, their “religion” is not being followed by most of the nations on earth. So, at this time, most of the burden of “reducing” global warming and climate change falls on the US economy and a few other nations.

This question arises. Are these global warming and climate change activists motivated by scientific or political purposes. Many non-believers suspect that their motives are political, not scientific, and that they relate mostly to the destruction of capitalism and the American Way rather than saving the earth from total destruction. Can't we just get along

The names of those who signed a petition to protect traditional marriage in Washington state have be redacted to protect them from death threats from the Leftists who support gay marriage. Documented threats include:

• "I will kill you and your family."

• "Oh my God, This woman is so f---ing stupid. Someone please shoot her in the head, again and again. And again."

• "I'm going to kill the pastor."

• "If I had a gun I would have gunned you down along with each and every other supporter…"

• "We're going to kill you."

• "You're dead. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon … you're dead."

• "I'm a gay guy who owns guns, and he's my next target."

• "I warn you, I know how to kill, I'm an ex-special forces person."

• "Get ready for retribution all you bigots."

• Burn their f---ing churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers."

This is the eighth-grade final exam from 1895 in Salina, Kansas, USA. It was taken from the original document on file at the Smokey Valley Genealogical Society and Library in Salina, and reprinted by the Salina Journal.

Grammar (Time: one hour)

1. Give nine rules for the use of capital letters.

2. Name the parts of speech and define those that have no modifications

3. Define verse, stanza and paragraph.

4. What are the principal parts of a verb? Give principal parts of 'lie,' 'play,' and 'run'.

Men who signed the Declaration of Independence

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It is not much to ask for the price they paid. Remember: freedom is never free! I hope you will show your support by sending this to as many people as you can, please. It is time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.

Oh yes, support your local tea party too.
