Teachers cheating

The message from teachers: It is OK to cheat if you do it for the right reasons.

The reason: pressure from the top to improve scores or schools will be shut down and we [teachers] will lose our job. Pressure came from state and US Big Gov to produce better scores.

“Secretary of Education Arne Duncan says that the emphasis on tests does not encourage cheating. In fact, he sees it as the only way to ensure schools are adequately teaching their students.”

Why teachers cheat [yahoo] 7/29/11 80 teachers in Atlanta. 60 schools in Pennsylvania where one teacher said it was to protect their self esteem. 1600 classrooms across six states [AZ CA CO FL MI OH and DC].
