Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King

70%-30%. When ML King gave his “I have a dream” speech, 70% of black families included a mother and father. That number is 30% today. 70% of black families today include many unwed mothers living with her childen and no fathers present.

How did it get that way?

1. Blame it on the US Tax Code. Mothers received more entitlement money for their children when there was no father in the home. So, fathers left the home for tax purposes, but not necessarily in practice.

2. Earned income tax credits originally reimbursed low income families for taxes paid. It has since been increased to pay back more than low income families pay in taxes.

3. Mothers receive SSI entitlements for having children, without limits.

The net result is that it pays to be low income and elected Democrats fight to keep it that way to assure that they get the low income vote.

If MLK were alive today, he would be a pro-lift Social Conservative, according to his neice. Heard on the radio today 1/16/12. How long will it be before her statement gets re-interpreted by the Left to clarifly what she really meant.
